Trevithick Cermics
The pupils in Trevthick had a visit from local ceramic artist Julia Crimmen who came and demonstrated making pots, and how to add additional depth by either adding additional ceramic shapes to the pots, or by simply cutting shapes into the clay.
The pupils then went on to design their own pots representing the Cornish countryside. These pots were bisque fired, then the children glazed them. The glazing process in itself is quite difficult in that the colour glaze that is put on turns out a completely different colour once fired.
