Pasty Making with Trevithick class

1st May 2017
Mrs Riley has been working with small groups of children from Trevithick class, teaching them the art of Pasty making.
The children have been peeling their vegetables, cutting the meat, weighing and measuring the ingredients to make the pastry. Then the fun process begins with making the pastry, rolling it out (is it big enough, are holes appearing?). Once they have a big enough pastry base, then cutting the ingredients to make the filling, not too much, not too little. Then the tricky bits begins with the crimping. Does it go on the top of the pasty or on the side? Is it a Cornish Pasty or a Devon Pasty?
