Million Kid Run
7th June 2017
Mum of three and keen runner Mrs Jenna Sobey, encouraged pupils and staff to take part in “Global Running Day” and “Million Kid Run” on Wednesday June 7th 2017.
“Global Running Day” is a day for people around the world to celebrate the joys of running. Participation is easy—just pledge to take part in some type of running activity on June 7, 2017. It can be a solo lap around the block, a long run with friends, or even a game of tag with your kids. The key is to share your passion for the sport and inspire others to get moving.
“Million Kid Run” is about making fitness fun and inspiring kids to embrace running as a way to get healthy and fit.
The children and staff all joined in this fun activity and ran 3 laps around the perimeter of the school field, along the grass edge of the playground, continuing around the pathway of the playground, behind the outdoor classroom to make a mile. Some of the year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed it so much that they continued running with some completing 5 or 6 laps.
